a) Would you like to get to know queer people in your area?
Braunschweig
- Onkel Emma
Many groups meet in Braunschweig’s queer center. People with a migration background or refugees also take part. A special offer is the international regulars‘ table. It is aimed at people from all over the world who study, work, live in Braunschweig and the region and would like to get to know other people who have had similar experiences. The meetings take place on the 3rd Friday of the month from 6 p.m.
German is spoken in the center, contact is possible in English.

Emden
- Cafe Lifepoint
The city of Emden set up Cafe Lifepoint as a meeting place for queer groups. Every Tuesday there is a meeting for queer people. Refugees are very welcome there, dates at: www.facebook.com/LifePointEmden/?locale=de_DE
Gifhorn
- Spektrum
Many groups meet in the queer center „Spektrum“. This also includes a group that speaks to refugees from refugees. One focus of the center is offers for young people. All offers at: www.queeres-netzwerk-gf.de/gruppen/
Göttingen
- Queeres Zentrum Göttingen
Many groups for queer people meet in the center. Refugee queers are very welcome in the rooms. German is spoken in the center, contact is possible in English. Advice on „trans*gender“. All offers at: queeres-zentrum-goettingen.de
Hannover
- Andersraum
Many groups meet in Hanover’s queer center. People with a migration background or refugees also take part. Advice on coming out and „trans*gender“. German is spoken, contact is possible in English. All information about the center at www.andersraum.de
- Prisma Queer Migrants
The group meets every 4th Thursday of the month. The meetings are for Queer of Color and queer people with migration or refugee experience. You can find the place and time and more information at facebook.com/prismaqueermigrants. A counseling service will also be set up from spring 2023. The Checkpoint is an offer from the Aidshilfe Hannover. You will find the project „Yalla Sawa“ there. It supports queer refugees and wants to improve the acceptance of queer people in refugee communities. See: aidshilfe.de/de/yallasawa/
Lüneburg

- Kargah e.V. offers a meeting for queer refugees in Hanover. Please inquire at: www.kargah.de
c) You need help or advice for your stay in Germany
Hannover
- The Kargah e.V. Refugee Office offers: Advice on asylum and residence law,
Assistance with relocation requests and safe housing for queer refugees. Advice is given in Arabic, Kurdish, Persian, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian. - Network for traumatized refugees in Lower Saxony (NTFN e.V.) also offers psychosocial counseling for queer refugees and supports them in finding a place for psychotherapy
